BRGS played host to the annual Lancashire Schools' Maths Challenge on Wednesday 19th of May. Schools from around Lancashire arrived to take part in front of an audience of guests, parents and County Councillor Ronald Pickup, who would be rewarding the winners with trophies, gift certificates and a fantastic framed work of kinetic art.

Under watchful eyes of a team of five judges from LPDS (Lancashire Professional Development Services), the teams engaged in a range of activities from logic puzzles, mathematical problem solving to programming a turtle robot (see pictures below):

All teams who took part did a great job, and in many ways were all winners to get to the final. The prize, trophies and congratulations go to winning team from:

1st Place: Whitworth Community High School
2nd Place: St Hilda's High School for Girls
3rd Place: Fearns Community High School
