8 May 2005

On Friday 6th May 2005, seventeen teams took part in a Golf Day at Rossendale Golf Club to raise funds for the BRGS Sports Hall Appeal.

Teams travelled from across the country to participate and although it was a cold day, participants were grateful for clear skies and no rain!

The day was superbly organised by former pupil, Andrew Nicholls, a member of the BRGS Sports Hall Appeal Committee.

Fundraising on the day comprised of a raffle and an auction with prizes including a golf mini-break to Carden Park, the opportunity to watch England v. Australia at Old Trafford, a football shirt signed by Wayne Rooney and a golf cap signed by Seve Ballesteros. Overall, the event raised a terrific £11,000!

Thank you to everyone who took part in the day and contributed to making the day such a success.
