On Friday 9th February 2007, students from Year 12 went to Vernon Park Primary School in Stockport to present a music workshop. The subject was ‘The Blues’ and there were plenty of opportunities for the students to display their skills through improvisation.

Joe Hodgson lead the proceedings, beginning with a blues ‘jam’ session with everyone improvising. Joe then demonstrated how a Blues song is structured, and sang his very own creation – the ‘Homework Blues’. This was followed by some accomplished solo performances from Jonathan, Josh and Ben and ended with another jam, with everyone taking a solo spot, helped by the audience clapping along to the beat!
The children were very impressed, as demonstrated by one Year 2 pupil who said, “it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen!” Well done to everyone involved.
