A squad of 20 netballers were in serious training since before Christmas to break the netball endurance record which stood at 55 hours.

The attempt began at noon on Thursday 29th March and the girls broke the record on Saturday evening (31st) and stopped playing at 55 hours 20 minutes!

Reports of the event were shown on ITV/Granada, who came to film sections of the challenge and reports were broadcast on BBC Radio lancashire.

The netballers chose to raise funds for two charities: Cystic Fibrosis and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
