A level Results - 2007

- Students at BRGS continued to produce excellent results at A level this year.
- 248 students passed 746 A level exams out of 758 at grades A to E and, in addition, passed 306 exams at AS level. The pass rate was 98.4% and has remained constant for the last three years. BRGS Sixth Form attracts a large number of new students who have achieved GCSE qualifications elsewhere.
- 423 A level results were at grades A and B, a rate of 55.8% which is the highest in the school’s history and is a further improvement on last year’s excellent results.
- The average UCAS points per student was 401 which is 3 below the record set last year.
- 41 students achieved the excellent standard of three or more passes at grade A. This was 16.5% of the year group whereas nationally 5% achieve three passes at grade A.

- The results mean that six students will enter Oxbridge next year. There will be a further press release about them next week when the universities have confirmed their places.
The deputy headmaster, Dr Andrew Edwards, said “I should like to take this opportunity to congratulate the students and staff of BRGS who work in a very busy school in conditions that are at times far from ideal. However, the most important component of the learning and examination experience that our students undergo is the partnership that develops between students and teachers both in the teaching classroom and in our wide range of extra-curricular activities. It is very satisfying to see how both our own and students who join our sixth form from elsewhere, flourish in our school. These results today are just one part of the educational package that the school delivers. As our students leave to further their education and careers, we feel as if we are saying goodbye to some very good friends”.
