BRGS Staff Abseil down Peel Tower

A quintet of intrepid BRGS staff abseiled 124 feet down the outside of Holcombe Tower (Peel Tower) at the end of June to raise funds for the Longsleddale Outdoor Pursuits Centre in the Lake District. The school has a long-standing relationship with the Centre in Longsleddale having taken groups of pupils there since 1982. The Centre gives students a chance to take part in adventurous activities at low costs and depends entirely on voluntary contributions to keep it running. It needs to raise £20,000 to re-roof the main building and to install a new kitchen.

The daredevil members of staff who took part in the abseil were: David Archer, Jane Chapman, Andrew Ellis, Pam Sawle and Derek Eames

Thanks to BRGS staff and their sponsors who have helped to raise money for Longsleddale Outdoor Pursuits Centre.
