Year 8 student Harriet Nolan wowed judges with her self-penned song "Cry" to win first place in "Rossendale's Got Talent".

Accompanying herself on the piano, Harriet delivered a stunning performance when she took to the stage at Haslingden High School theatre on Sunday April 26th to take first prize despite strong competition from seven other rising stars.
The celebrity judging panel included TV and radio funnyman Ted Robbins, international opera singer Sean Ruane and Free Press reporter Lisa Higginson. Compere for the event was Steve Cooper.

Harriet walked away with £200 prize money and got the chance to perform on
Ted Robbins’ BBC Radio Lancashire morning show on Monday.
On Wednesday morning, the budding star also appeared on television station Channel M’s breakfast show and performed
live for viewers.
Opening the show and warming up the audience for the contestents were a group of students from BRGS. They perfomed a hip-hop dance routine followed by a medley of songs from the musical "Hairspray".
