Year 12 Students Rohan Ahmed and Tayyaba Sanam ( were recently awarded certificates of commendation in recognition of the “impressive work” they submitted to the Royal Society of Chemistry in the Bill Bryson competition. The competition was open to all students with a passion for science who had a desire to share it with others.

Miss Heather Bowden, Head of Chemistry, said “I am delighted that two BRGS students received certificates of commendation in this competition. I hope this will act as a catalyst for some of our other high achieving A level chemistry students to enter the RSCs 42nd International Chemistry Olympiad when they are in year 13.” The International Chemistry Olympiad forms part of the chemistry department’s G & T (gifted & talented) provision at A level
