Regular visits to Trickett’s Memorial Ground in Waterfoot in the autumn have been used to clear rubbish and brambles. Pupils have also worked with the community group Civic Pride in Rawtenstall.

Pupils doing the Duke of Edinburgh Award have been working to tidy and plant the rough verges by the path from Mount Avenue to Booth Road. Next summer we hope to create a wildflower area.

Over the winter we are continuing to work on Sunday mornings on new paths and steps in the school’s woodland garden and we have started to thin out the ash trees, ready to plant a variety of trees and shrubs in early spring.

Work has also continued on the school's vegetable plot.
