The under 16 basketball team hosted St Peter's, Belle Vue.

After a very slow start going 0-8 down, a time out was called, a flea in the ear was issued and the performance then came up to the standards expected and we drew level at 13-13.

However, St Peter's are a very good side and the game kept slipping away, 22-33 but we kept bringing it back, 42-45, only to see the deficit extend again, 50-62.

At the start of the final quarter we had, again, reduced the gap to trail by only 5 points, 64-69 but that was as close as we got and, realising that we weren't going to win, let the game slip away to lose 76-93.

St Peter's were a little more comfortable passing the ball and were a bit quicker at getting to loose balls but otherwise it was a very close and highly contested game. To be honest, the best team won.

Despite saying that, we had the two best players on court in Conor Porter who scored 42 points and Ben Chicken with 22 but the next best 5 or 6 players belonged to St Peter's.

Our next game is the Lancashire Final against Corpus Christi from Preston.
