New English Block Opening Ceremony November 2011

On Monday November 21st, BRGS held an informal. low-key opening ceremony for the new English Faculty building.

Former student and Leader of Lancashire County Council, Counciller Geoff Driver, performed the ceremonial honours. The ceremony was attended by the school governors and invited guests - including former members of the English Department.

Acting Headmaster, Mr. Elkington, introduced Year 7 students Charlotte Mickleburgh, Natalie Tullock, Grace Watkinson and Lucy Garbutt who,
along with Year 13 student Richard Barnes, read pieces of creative writing
they had written especially for the opening ceremony.

The invited guests and excited students then took a tour of the new building before classes began.
