On Friday 15th June a group of Year 7 pupils went on an Inspiration Day to develop creative writing skills.

The theme of the writing activity for this year was journeys, landscapes, places and movement and so the day was arranged around a journey from Waterfoot to Bury by bus, steam train and foot. Pupils were able to explore a variety of places of cultural interest such as Bury Art Gallery, Bury's world famous market and the grade one listed parish church.

During the experience, pupils were able to explore, at close range, the East Lancs Railway's steam locomotive 'Sapper', as well as masterpiece paintings by artists such as Edwin Landseer and Turner, some exciting modern works and architecture by Pugin.

Despite the weather, the day was an enjoyable success and the pupils' creativity was certainly inspired.
