Year 10 students Amminah Shafiq, Muskan Kaur, Elizabeth Marney & Lily Mellor participated in Burnley College Schools' Debating Competition discussing issues such as gender quotas in the workplace and whether the TV licence should be abolished. Although winning the audience vote for each debate, along with bars of chocolate for excellent questions posed during the debates, the girls lost out to Bowland High School, finalists in the competition. All students voted for a 'Debaters' Debater' and Elizabeth Marney won this accolade jointly with a student from Unity College. Congratulations to all our team.
