Our guests speaker at Junior Speech Night left BRGS in 2007 to study Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College. He then progressed into investment banking but decided it was not for him so continued his studying with a Masters in Applicable Mathematics at the London School of Economics.

Ed then started up his own company, CheckRecipient (winner of WIRED's Best Security Startup 2016), which builds software using artifical intelligence and machine learning to stop sensitive information being emailed to the wrong people.

Ed's speech focused on some amusing anecdotes from his time at BRGS as well as those experienced in his career to date.  However, he summarised the theme in his concluding statement:

"Time is your most valuable resource.  Make the most of it.  Focus on your interests at every fork in the road and take every opportunity and dive in head-first."  He wished the class of 2017 all the best in their adventures in life.

We were also delighted to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Rossendale with the Mayor kindly supporting a progress prize for two students who have made significant progress here at BRGS.
