Four Year 10 students competed in the annual Burnley College Schools' Debating Competition just missing out on the final.  The team of Lucy, Eisah, Rahat and Charlotte debated the following motions:

  • Celebrities should keep out of politics.
  • The UK should embrace the use of fracking.
  • Semi-final debate: Space exploration is a waste of time and money.

After the first two rounds the students were in a strong second place in the scoring system and narrowly missed out on progressing to the final after an excellent debate on space exploration.  Well done to all!
