World Book Day

World Book Day saw Key Stage 3 students participating in an English competition focusing on female protagonists in literature in support of International Women's Day. 

The hall was festooned with Votes for Women signs and the Suffragette Flag alongside the names of inspirational females in the world who were proposed by students throughout the school.  

The competition encouraged students to select a female fictional character and create a bookmark and then summarise in supporting commentary why their character should be recognised as a strong literary character.  The winning entry from each year group will be professionally printed for each year.
