It was a delight to be able to have a 'live' Speech Night after a couple of years of virtual events due to the pandemic.  Students, parents, carers and guests enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate their fantastic achievements in person and we were thrilled also to invite back former student Lily Vesperinas.

After A levels at BRGS, Lily started an apprenticeship training contract at Deloitte and after completing her ACA (Chartered Accountant) in 2018 she progressed to work at Harrods and more recently, ITV, as the Global Head of Consolidation.  Lily has now returned to her northern roots and is at Sosandar plc.  Lily encouraged students to follow their career goals and to use support networks around them to achieve these goals.

We were also pleased to welcome Deputy Mayor, Councillor Andrew Walmsley and Former Mayor, Councillor Amanda Robertson to share in the students' successes.

Lily is pictured below with an image of her fiancé Tom who is also a BRGS alumni and whose career path is used to inspire current BRGS physicists.
