Headshaving - perhaps not the most original fundraising event - unless the person having their head shaved is a girl!

Yes, that's what Helen Leyland agreed to do if the school could raise enough money for the NSPCC, going to show, yet again, the tenacity and spirit we associate with the BRGS sixth form charities committee.

Enlisted for the job was Ken Masser - as her boyfriend, there was no way he could complain about the results if he did it!

The hall was almost full despite inter-form basketball finals taking place and the Free Press came to cover the story for the papers.

1. Ken moves in with the scissors...

2. Then he sets to with the shaver...

3. The pile of hair on the floor starts to get bigger...

4. Helen doesn't look worried at all... er... well, maybe...

5. Mirror, mirror on the wall...

6. Who's the ... aaaaaaaagh!

The hall was packed out with pupils, teachers and parents who came to watch the event with amusement and horror!

WELL DONE HELEN! THE SHORT HAIR LOOKS GREAT!
