The Class of 2001 - Leavers Parade
25 May 2001
The school hall was filled to bursting point as this year's upper sixth entered the hall for the Leavers' Day Parade. As always the effort that had gone into preparing some of these costumes was huge and made the day a true spectacle.
This year's leavers were never a shy bunch and the school was treated to a rendition of YMCA by a number of lads who made a startlingly realistic impression of the Village People! (see below)
Despite the merriment it is always sad to reach the end of an era and say goodbye. No doubt there were some fond memories recalled as the hall rang out to the strains of what has become the unofficial anthem of BRGS: New York, New York.
Following the parade, students returned to their tutor groups for one last time before going to the Dining Room for a farewell assembly. Here they were given the chance to reminisce about some of the times that they have had together over the years, from the comments made by some of their primary school teachers to a video presentation of some of the major events from the past two years.
After photographs the students were finally off, although maybe not straight home to revise that day!!! However, some students have already sat their first examination (English Language A-level Original Writing took place on Thursday 17th) and we now wish the rest of them the best of luck with their A-levels.
Good luck year 13!!! You can find the pictures below. Just click the thumbnail and a larger version will appear in a popup window.
