6 October 2006

On Thursday 5th October 2006, over 70 guests gathered at the House of Commons in the Strangers' Dining Room overlooking the River Thames for an alumni reception. The venue was kindly organised by Janet Anderson MP. On the guest list were former students based in London and the south-east, except for one former student who lives in Australia but happened to be in the UK at the time! Alumni ranged from former students who were at BRGS in the 1930s to more recent leavers from the 2000s. Every decade group was represented.

It was an opportunity for former students to renew acquaintances and see friends, some of whom they had not met in over 40 years. They also had the opportunity to meet Marc Morris, Headmaster, and our recently appointed Head Boy and Head Girl, Rob Whitworth and Nicole Sosnowski. The event followed the first London reception which was held 3 years ago and was a great success. Presentations were made by Janet Anderson, David Heap (Chairman of Governors) and Marc Morris who shared current and future developments planned for BRGS with guests.

The House of Commons was a venue which all the guests really enjoyed and one of the highlights of the evening was a guided tour of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
