British Land Chess Competition

One of the more unusual activities here at BRGS, although still extremely popular, is Chess. We have a flourishing team of talented younger players who have recently demonstrated that they have the ability to compete at the highest level.

In the British Land Chess competition, 3 of our students from Years 8 and 9 have successfully fought through the North West rounds and will now go forward to play in the All Northern National Finals. Should they achieve 1st or 2nd place then they will move through to the National competition at an Elite level.

This is an exciting time for our young players and we wish all of them the very best of luck as we look forward to following their progress.
