Year 12 art students have been working with David Hancock as their artist in residence.

David is a Greater Manchester artist who has exhibited all over the world.  He has won various prizes including the John Moore Painting Prize and he was commended in the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery. David has also recently opened the PAPER gallery in Manchester to promote North West artists and beyond. Some of the art department staff saw his very impressive exhibition at Rochdale's Touchstones Gallery this summer and it was there he was approached to work with our students. We were extremely flattered that he agreed.

Our students are benefitting from his knowledge, experience and from observing both his accomplished finished work and his skills directly through demonstrations. The year 12 work will be exhibited during our summer sixth form, evening art exhibition on Wednesday 11th June where all are welcome.
