As part of the Sixth Form Enrichment Programme, The Mayor of Rossendale was invited to lead one of the sessions on politics.  Karen Reynard, Head of Law who hosted the session said: “The students increased their knowledge and awareness of local government and various roles.  It was useful to learn about how local councillors make a difference to our local community and, in particular, how the Mayor is enjoying his role and the privilege that it affords in allowing him to see so many positive activities taking place in our borough.”  Students were particularly interested in the history behind the gold Mayoral chain and the various fobs.  "Apparently there are three different chains and the Mayor chose to wear the Bacup chain to visit BRGS."
