Year 11 had their annual awards assembly celebrating effort and achievement across the year group.

Awards were presented to the following students for 100% attendance over the course of the last academic year:

Hannah Butterworth, Mark Chambers, Katy Dunn and Emma Haworth.

ABRSM certificates were presented to Carl Ashworth (Grade 5 Bassoon), James Buckley (Grade 4 Bassoon), Sarah Gough (Grade 8 Piano), Claudia Saxton (Grade 5 Alto Sax), Connor Whitworth (Grade 3 Trumpet).  Amy Ewens was awarded her Grade 8 Clarinet and Grade 8 Alto Saxophone certificates alongside The George Allen Memorial Trophy for Music.

Form prizes awarded to students with the highest average attituded to learning grades over the course of the year (generously funded by the PTA) were presented to: Louis Blackbourn and Hana Salman (11B), Carl Ashworth and Faizah Hanif (11G) Mark Chambers and Muskan Kaur (11N), Patrick Howard and Emer Shell (11R), Joseph Coong and Kirsty Welshman (11S).

Other prizes awarded were The Mayor of Rossendale's Memorial Prize for one boy and one girl in Year 11 who has made the most progress from Year 7 to Year 10.  This year these were awarded to Hannah Cordey and George Wilson.

The Carol Brown Memorial Prize for Service to the Community was presented to a group of students who raised £1,354.31 for Rossendale Hospice:  Ariij Asif, Patrick Howard, Molly Rodgers, Kate Roper, Claudia Saxton and Connor Whitworth. 

Last but far from least, we awarded the LionHeart Enterprise Challenge certificates who were the overall winners in the North-West Regional Final and will go on to compete in the National Final.  Congratulations to Hannah Ahmed (Team Leader), Felix Davies, Katie Dunn, Jessica Fossey, Charlie Harding, Simra Parvez, Molly Rodgers, Matthew Szeleski, Theo Wells-George and Connor Whitworth.
