Congratulations to all our Year 11 students on their GCSE results.  Photos from results day can be found by clicking here.

To summarise, for the class of 2017:

  • 59% of all grades were at A*/A or equivalent (including grade 7, 8 and 9 in Maths and English)
  • 99 out of 151 students, an impressive 65.6% achieved the equivalent of 5 or more A*/As.
  • 70 out of 151 students, an excellent 46.4% achieved the equivalent of 8 or more A*/As.
  • 98.7% achieved 5 or more A* to C grades including English and Mathematics (including grade 4 and above in Maths and English)
  • Faizah Hanif achieved 8A* grades and grade 9s in Maths, English Language and English Literature.  Grade 9 is the new top grade, which is more challenging to achieve than the old A* grade, so this is a phenomenal achievement.
  • Alan Porteous, Headteacher said:  “We are proud of our Year 11 students who continue our record of high academic attainment in a year in which national changes to assessment have resulted in a tougher examination system.  Clearly these results could not have been achieved without a huge amount of hard work and commitment from both students and staff who have risen to the challenge, and we congratulate them on their achievements.  The vast majority of our Year 11 students will continue on into our sixth form where they will be joined by a significant number of new faces who will be able to build on their GCSE successes as they approach their A levels with real confidence and self-belief.”
