Charity Challenge
3 May 2018
Year 9 students researched and visited local charities and then prepared a short presentation pitching for funds to be awarded to their chosen charity.
The winning team gained £1500 for Veterans in the Community (VIC) consisted of Daisy, Scarlet, Mollie and Sam. VIC supports those who have served in any of the branches of the armed forces, emergency services and their families who have or are having difficulties with returning to ‘Civvy Street’.
Second place went to Annabelle's Challenge which was awarded £500. Team members were Rosie, Harriet, Chloe, Ella and Georgie. Annabelle's Challenge is the UK's leading charity for Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome ( vascular EDS ) working closely with the NHS Ehlers-Danlos National Diagnostic Service.
The commitment, enthusiasm and passion the students demonstrated for their chosen charities was fantastic. Many are continuing to stay in touch with the charities concerned as volunteers.
