BRGS students are celebrating excellent GCSE results with:

  • 15% of all GCSE grades at the highest grade 9. 
  • 59% of all grades were at 9-7 which is an increase on 53% in 2018.
  • 72% of the year group achieved 5 GCSEs at the highest grades of 9-7.
  • Our English Baccalaureate figure, the percentage of students achieving a 9 to 4 grade in English, Mathematics, Science (dual award or two single Science subjects), a humanities subject and a MFL subject was 78.5%.

A number of students achieving exceptionally highly with:

  • 25 students achieving 5 or more grade 9s, 14 of these with 7 or more grade 9s
  • 44 out of 180 students (24%) achieving all 9-7 in 10 subjects.
  • 23 out of 180 students (13%) achieving all 9-7 in 11 subjects.

Alan Porteous, Headteacher, said: “We are proud of the results achieved by our Year 11 students this year which are an improvement on last year’s figures in all categories.  This sustained record of outstanding academic achievement is clearly a result of a huge amount of work and commitment from both students and staff and we congratulate them on their achievements. These successes should enable them to approach their A level studies with real confidence and self-belief.”
