At the end of Year 7, after spending a year at BRGS, some of our students shared some advice and pearls of wisdom for our new Year 7s, who we look forward to welcoming in a few days.

Some of their thoughts are below:

Hello!

If I could give you one piece of advice when coming to BRGS it would be:

“Don’t be nervous, you are not alone, everyone else around you is experiencing these new feelings and new surroundings.”

To Year 6 students,

Don’t stress out, it is a breeze and the time flies by so fast:  take it all in!  You are only Year 7 once and it goes by so fast.

To year 6 students,

Don’t be stressed, you will enjoy it.

You will make lots of friends easily.  Be yourself.

Hello!

When coming to BRGS I advise you to be yourself and people will be friends with you for who you are.

Never turn down any opportunities at BRGS.  There are so many.

It is natural to sometimes get lost as you get to know the buildings over the first few days but you are never alone and there are plenty of people who will help you.

Don’t worry about making friends because you’re all in the same boat.  You’ll make friends as the year progresses.

A Year 7

Don’t feel scared to talk to new people, everyone is in the same boat.  So don’t close up, people will want to make friends with you.

Everyone is treated equally.  Don’t worry, all of your peers will be feeling a bit worried at first but after the first few minutes these nerves will disappear and you will soon settle in!

Do not be afraid to ask for help with any sort of issues you have.  Everyone is really helpful.

You don’t need to act cool and confident.  Just be yourself.
