Schools are not required to publish their exam and assessment results for the academic year 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 as these have not been published as performance measures by the Secretary of State. The results below include 2018 and 2019 results from external exams and 2020 from centre assessed grades and 2021 from teacher assessed grades. 

A Level Results - 2022

Our A level results in 2022 continued our record of high achievement with 70.3% A*-B grades and 45% at A*/A.  Overall achievement at A*/A was 45% and 55 students achieved at least three grades of A*-A (more than a quarter of the year group).  14 students achieved at least three A* grades - two of whom received four A* grades and one receiving five A* grades. 

At least three students continued their studies at Oxbridge after winning places at the leading universities and six students are pursuing university studies in medicine and dentistry.  A number of students progressed to STEM-focused university courses with many studying diverse courses ranging from law to nursing, psychology, business management, journalism and Japanese.

The Level 3 Overall Average Points Score per Entry at A level was 41.38 and the overall average grade was B. 

GCSE Results - 2022

The GCSE results follow two years of unprecedented challenges for our students and in spite of these challenges:

  • 21.8% of all GCSE grades were at the highest grade 9
  • 60.6% of all grades were at 9-7
  • 64.4% of the year group achieved 5 GCSEs at the highest grades of 9-7
  • Our English Baccalaureate figure, the percentage of students achieving a 9 to 4 grade in English, Mathematics, Science (dual award or two single Science subjects), a humanities subject and a MFL subject was 90.0%
  • 37 students achieved 5 or more grade 9s, 26 of these with 7 or more grade 9s 

The school's Progress 8 measure was 0.28 and Attainment 8 was 71.9.  The percentage of pupils achieving grade 5 or above in English and Maths at the end of key stage 4 was 94% and our English Baccalaureate average point score was 6.88.  98% of students stayed in education or employment after key stage 4. 

A Level Results - 2021

  • The percentage of students achieving the top grades of A* to B was 74.9%
  • The overall achievement at A*/A was 49.4%
  • 61 students achieved the excellent standard of three or more passes at grade A*/A

Three students will be continuing their studies at Oxbridge with 20 students pursuing studies in medicine, veterinary science and dentistry. A number of students are progressing to STEM-focused courses with many studying diverse courses ranging from law to nursing, psychology, business management, music, journalism and speech and language therapy.

 

GCSE Results - 2021

Please note that 2020 A level results were teacher assessed grades.

  • 63.8% of all grades were at 9-7
  • 19.1% of all GCSE grades were at grade 9
  • 99.4% of our students achieved 5 or more 9-4 grades including English and Mathematics with 92.8% achieving 5 strong pass including English and Maths
  • 70.7 % of our students achieved 5 or more grade 9-7s
  • 46.4% of our students achieved 8 or more grade 9-7s
  • 86.7% of our students achieved the English Baccalaureate  - a grade 4 or better in English, Mathematics, Science (dual award or two single Science subjects), a humanities subject and a foreign language. 98.9% of our students were entered for the English Baccalaureate. 
  • six of our students achieved 9 or more grade 9s, with one achieving 10 grade 9s

A Level Results - 2020

  • The percentage of students achieving the top grades of A* to B was 66.2%
  • The overall achievement at A*/A was 40.7%
  • 41 students achieved the excellent standard of three or more passes at grade A*/A

Four students will be continuing their studies at Oxbridge with 16 students pursuing studies in medicine, veterinary science and dentistry.  A number of students are progressing to STEM-focused courses with many studying diverse courses ranging from law to nursing, psychology, business management, food science, music, journalism and speech and language therapy.

GCSE Results - 2020

Please note that 2020 GCSE results were centre-assessed grades.

  • 61.8% of all grades were at 9-7
  • 16% of all GCSE grades were at grade 9
  • 100% of our students achieved 5 or more 9-4 grades including English and Mathematics with 97.8% achieving 5 strong passes including English and Maths
  • 66.5% of our students achieved 5 or more grade 9-7s
  • 50.8% of our students achieved 8 or more grade 9-7s
  • 89.4% of our students achieved the English Baccalaureate  - a grade 4 or better in English, Mathematics, Science (dual award or two single Science subjects), a humanities subject and a foreign language. 98.9% of our students were entered for the English Baccalaureate. 
  • five of our students achieved 9 or more grade 9s, with two achieving 10 grade 9s

A Level Results - 2019

  • A* to B was 59% significantly higher than the national average of 48%
  • The overall achievement at A*/A was 32%, significantly higher than the national average of 22%
  • 31 students achieved the excellent standard of three or more passes at grade A*/A. This constitutes 17% of the year group. (significantly above national average of 10%) Note:  of these, six of these were 4 A/A* and one gained 5 A*/A
  • Five students achieved 3 A*, 2 students gained 4 A*’s

Our value added point score was -0.7 (national average is 0) with the average points gained for A-level being 37.0 (national average = 33.9) and we gained 79% grade A*-C (national % was 74%).

Retention figures for 2018-2019 are as follows:

Year 12 % retained (in year) = 96.4%

Year 13 % retained (in year) = 98.9%

Year 12-13 % retained = 98.4%

GCSE Level Results - 2019

  • 59% of all grades were at 9-7
  • 15% of all GCSE grades were at grade 9
  • 97.2% of our students achieved 5 or more 9-4 grades including English and Mathematics with 94.5% achieving 5 strong pass including English and Maths
  • 70 % of our students achieved 5 9-7s
  • 41.6% of our students achieved 8 9-7s
  • 78.5% of our students achieved the English Baccalaureate  - a grade 4 or better in English, Mathematics, Science (dual award or two single Science subjects), a humanities subject and a foreign language. 96.7% of our students were entered for the English Baccalaureate. 
  • four of our students achieved 9 or more grade 9s, with one achieving 10 grade 9s and one grade 7
  • the vast majority of our students progress to full time further education (99.4%) and 0.6% progressing to full time employment

BRGS Progress 8 was +0.37, BRGS Attainment 8 was 7.2 (both significantly higher than national average)

BRGS GCSE Exam Results for 2018 can be found here. In 2018, the Progress 8 was +0.12 and Attainment 8 was 7.0. Attainment in English and Maths with a Grade 5 or above was 98%. Attainment in the English Baccalaureate for those gaining Grade 4 or above was 82% and for those gaining Grade 5 or above was 60%.
